Refinery Maintenance Services in KSA

Refinery turnarounds open hundreds of joints in a fixed window, many of them in hot hydrocarbon service. We bring the bolting, cutting, machining and testing crews that get them closed correctly and on time.

Refineries

Bolting and joint services for refinery turnarounds

Refineries in Saudi Arabia run long cycles between turnarounds, so when a unit comes down every hour counts. Exchanger channel covers, reactor and column nozzles, fired heater connections and process lines all have to be opened, inspected and closed to the right bolt load.

We plan refinery work from a joint register, with calculated loads for each joint and the right mix of bolt torquing and tensioning. Hot service joints get suitable lubricants and a target stress that resists relaxation as the unit heats up.

Around the bolting we add the services refinery scopes usually need: pipe cold cutting near live units, flange facing for damaged faces, and nitrogen purging before start-up.

Common problems

Refinery joint problems we solve

The issues we are asked to fix most often in refineries.

01

Exchanger leaks after start-up

Usually uneven load on large girth joints. Tensioning and a check pass normally solve it.

02

Hot service relaxation

Joints that leak after heating up. A higher target stress and the right lubricant reduce relaxation.

03

Missed joints in large scopes

A joint register with tags makes sure every opened joint is closed and recorded.

FAQ

Refinery maintenance services in KSA: common questions

Can you support a full refinery turnaround?

Yes. We build the joint register, supply bolting, cutting, machining and testing crews, work day and night shifts if needed, and hand over a close-out dossier.

How do you handle hot service joints?

We calculate a suitable target stress, use lubricants rated for the temperature and follow the owner procedure for any hot re-torque.

Do you follow refinery owner bolting standards?

Yes. Where the owner has a flange assembly specification, we follow it. Otherwise we work to ASME PCC-1 guidance.
