Pre-Commissioning Services in KSA, from One Crew

Between mechanical completion and start-up, every system has to be tested, dried, inerted and closed up. We handle that whole sequence, so your project deals with one crew instead of several subcontractors.

Why one crew

Fewer hand-overs, fewer gaps

Pre-commissioning involves a chain of activities, and each hand-over between contractors is a chance for something to be missed: a blind left in, a joint reinstated without a gasket check, a system purged without proof. Our pre-commissioning services in KSA keep the chain in one team.

We work from your test packs: fitting blinds, running the hydrotest or local weld tests, dewatering and drying, leak testing and nitrogen purging. Our bolting crew then removes the blinds and reinstates the permanent joints to a calculated load.

Each test pack comes back signed, with test records, purge readings and joint records together, ready for your completions team.

Activities

The pre-commissioning activities we deliver

Taken together or individually, depending on your project split.

Test pack execution

Test boundaries confirmed, blinds fitted and tests run to the approved test pack.

Pressure testing

Hydrostatic tests, pneumatic tests where specified, and local weld tests for tie-ins.

Dewatering and drying

Water removed after testing and systems dried with air or dry nitrogen to the specified dew point.

Leak testing

Nitrogen and helium leak tests to prove joints before start-up.

Nitrogen purging and inerting

Oxygen removed to a measured target and systems held under nitrogen.

Reinstatement

Blinds removed and permanent joints reinstated with controlled bolting and records.

How we work

A typical pre-commissioning sequence

The order may change with the system, but every step is recorded.

  1. Review test packs

We confirm boundaries, pressures and isolations for each test pack.

  2. Blind and test

Blinds are fitted and the system is pressure tested and signed off.

  3. Dewater and dry

The system is drained and dried to the specified dew point.

  4. Leak test

Joints are leak tested with nitrogen or helium where required.

  5. Purge and inert

Oxygen is removed and the system held under nitrogen.

  6. Reinstate and hand over

Blinds are removed, joints reinstated and the test pack closed.

Where it is used

Where our pre-commissioning is used

New construction, expansions and major modifications.

New process units

Piping systems completed during construction.

Plant expansions

New trains and tie-ins to existing plants.

Pipelines

Pipeline sections tested, dried and inerted before first gas or product.

Utility systems

Cooling water, fire water, nitrogen and instrument air systems.

Hydrogen and ammonia projects

Systems with strict dryness and leak-tightness targets.

Fabricated modules

Skids and modules tested before or after installation.

FAQ

Pre-commissioning services in KSA: common questions

What does pre-commissioning include?

It covers the activities between mechanical completion and commissioning: pressure testing, dewatering and drying, leak testing, purging and inerting, and reinstating joints, all recorded against the test packs.

Can you work as a subcontractor on our project?

Yes. We work to your test packs and quality plan as a subcontractor to EPC and construction contractors.

Do you dry systems after hydrotesting?

Yes. We drain and dry systems with air or dry nitrogen to the dew point your specification requires.

Who reinstates the joints after testing?

Our bolting crew removes the blinds and reinstates the permanent joints to a calculated load, with a record for each joint.
