Flange Management Services in KSA, Joint by Joint

A turnaround can open hundreds of flanges. Flange management makes sure every one of them is listed, assembled to a calculated load, tested and signed off, so none is forgotten and none leaks at start-up.

Why manage flanges

Most start-up leaks are a management problem

When a leak appears at start-up, the cause is rarely a lack of tools. More often a joint was missed, assembled with the wrong gasket, tightened from memory, or never checked. Our flange management services in KSA close those gaps with a simple system: every joint in scope is registered, given a calculated bolt load, assembled by a trained technician, tagged and recorded.

We take responsibility for the whole joint, not just the tightening. That can include flange facing for damaged faces, seized nut removal, controlled bolt torquing or tensioning, and leak testing before the unit returns to service.

At the end you receive a close-out dossier: the register showing every joint complete, the record for each one and the calibration certificates for the tools used. It is the evidence your QA team and inspectors need, in one place.

What we manage

The parts of a flange management programme

Each part can be supplied on its own, but they work best together.

Joint register

Every joint in scope listed with tag, size, class, stud data, gasket and status. See our joint register guide.

Bolt load calculations

Target stress and torque or tensioner pressure per joint, based on flange, gasket and lubricant.

Assembly procedures

Written procedures aligned with ASME PCC-1, or your company bolting specification.

Competent technicians

Crews trained in joint assembly and the safe use of high-pressure hydraulic tools.

Tagging and tracking

Joints tagged as opened, assembled and tested, with daily progress against the register.

Close-out dossier

Records for each joint, calibration certificates and sign-offs, ready for audit.

How we work

A managed shutdown, from register to dossier

The same steps whether the scope is fifty joints or several hundred.

  1. Build the register

We list every joint from your work list, isometrics and equipment data and agree the scope.

  2. Calculate and approve

Bolt loads and procedures are prepared per joint and sent to your engineers.

  3. Plan resources

Tools, crews and shifts are matched to the register and the shutdown schedule.

  4. Open and inspect

Joints are opened, faces and fasteners inspected, and repairs raised where needed.

  5. Assemble and tag

Each joint is assembled to its calculated load and tagged as complete.

  6. Test and close out

Leak tests are carried out where required and the dossier is handed over.

Where it is used

Where flange management is used

Any scope with enough joints that tracking them by memory is a risk.

Refinery turnarounds

Hundreds of process and exchanger joints opened and closed in a fixed window.

Petrochemical shutdowns

Reactor, column and polymer line joints with strict leak requirements.

Gas plant maintenance

High-pressure joints where a leak is a serious safety risk.

New plant commissioning

Joint registers built from test packs and closed out at handover.

Leak reduction programmes

Plants with repeat leaks that need a systematic fix rather than more torque.

Contractor support

Flange management delivered as a subcontract to EPC and maintenance contractors.

FAQ

Flange management services in KSA: common questions

What is flange management?

It is the planning, control and recording of every bolted joint in a scope: registering each joint, setting its bolt load, assembling it correctly, tagging it and keeping a record, so no joint is missed and leaks at start-up are avoided.

Do you work to ASME PCC-1?

Our procedures follow ASME PCC-1 guidance. Where your company or the EPC contractor has its own bolting specification, we work to that instead.

Can you take over flange management for our whole turnaround?

Yes. We can build the register, supply the crews and tools, track progress daily with your planners, and hand over the close-out dossier.

What does the close-out dossier contain?

The completed joint register, the record for each joint with method, values and technician, and the calibration certificates of the tools used.
