Seized Nut Removal Services in KSA, Without Heat
Corrosion in the Gulf climate locks nuts onto studs. Our crews split or break them out with hydraulic tools, so the flange can be opened without torches, grinding or damage to the faces.
Removing fasteners that will not turn
Marine air, process leaks and long run cycles leave many nuts in Saudi plants rusted solid. Forcing them with heavy wrenches can snap studs or damage the flange; cutting them with a torch needs a hot-work permit and risks heat damage near hydrocarbons. Seized nut removal in KSA with hydraulic nut splitters avoids both.
A nut splitter clamps around the nut and drives a hardened chisel into one side until the nut cracks. The stud is usually left intact, and nothing touches the flange face. Where a nut can still be turned, we first try controlled break-out with a high-torque hydraulic wrench and penetrating treatment.
Once the fasteners are off, the joint can be inspected and rebuilt with new studs and nuts, using our flange facing service if the face is damaged and bolt torquing to close it to a calculated load.

How we remove seized fasteners
We start with the least damaging method that will work.
Controlled break-out
A high-torque hydraulic wrench applies steady force, often after penetrating treatment, to free nuts that are tight but not fused.
Hydraulic nut splitting
A chisel splits the nut on one side; the stud and flange face are left undamaged.
Stud removal
Studs that are bent or corroded are removed and replaced as a set.
Fastener supply
New studs and nuts in the specified grade, with coatings for corrosive areas.
Thread inspection
Remaining studs are cleaned and checked before they are reused.
Joint rebuild
The joint is reassembled to a calculated load and tagged.
From seized joint to rebuilt joint
A typical seized-fastener job.
Assess the fasteners
We check nut size, corrosion level and access around the flange.
Isolate and clear
Your team isolates the line under permit before any fastener is loosened.
Try break-out
Nuts that can be turned are freed with controlled hydraulic torque.
Split the rest
Fused nuts are split one by one with hydraulic splitters.
Replace fasteners
New studs and nuts are fitted, and the face inspected.
Close and record
The joint is tightened to its calculated load and recorded.
Where seized nuts are most common
Places where corrosion and long service lock fasteners in place.
Coastal terminals and jetties
Loading lines and tank connections exposed to salt air.
Cooling water systems
Seawater and cooling water flanges with heavy corrosion.
Old process units
Joints that have not been opened for many years.
Desalination plants
Brine and seawater lines in constant contact with corrosive water.
Pipelines
Buried and exposed flanges on long pipeline sections.
Hot service joints
High-temperature joints where threads gall and fuse.
Services that follow nut removal
After the fasteners are off, the joint usually needs inspection and a controlled rebuild.
Bolt Torquing
Hydraulic torque wrenches and stud tensioners applying a calculated bolt load, pass by pass, with a tagged record for each joint.

Seized nut removal in KSA: common questions
Does nut splitting damage the stud?
Normally no. The chisel splits the nut, not the stud. Studs that are badly corroded are usually replaced anyway when the joint is rebuilt.
Do you need a hot-work permit for nut splitting?
Nut splitting produces no flame. Your site rules decide the permit type, and the line must still be isolated and cleared first.
Can you supply replacement studs and nuts?
Yes. We can source studs and nuts to your specification, including coated fasteners for corrosive areas.
What if the stud snaps?
A broken stud can usually be removed and replaced. If a stud breaks off inside a tapped hole, we can drill it out with our on-site machining equipment.
Have nuts that will not move?
Send the nut sizes, the number of joints and a photo if you have one. We will reply with a method and price.
